Content

During the “Building and Leading High-Performance Teams” program, we will tackle the following topics:

    • The Essentials High-Performance Team (HPT)
      Evaluate the common traits of HPT members, as well as the requisite stages and processes to successfully develop a high-performance team. This includes discussion of the dynamics of virtual and culturally diverse teams.
    • Developing Your Management Team
      Discover highly practical methodologies to address the specific challenges associated with virtual teams.
    • Building Trust
      Learn how to employ mechanisms to enhance team dynamics and create an optimal environment of trust and collaboration.
    • Effective Communication
      Explore strategies to create effective communication across geographic, time, cultural and linguistic barriers, and learn how to address needs at both individual and team levels.
    • Leading Teams
      Analyze the essentials of managing teams: enhanced communication, coordination and alignment.

The “Building and Leading High-Performance Teams” program is aimed at senior managers responsible for leading teams. Advisory committee members, managing directors, division heads and functional managers will find it particularly beneficial.

Methodology

Using a highly dynamic and practical approach, the “Building and Leading High-Performance Teams” program combines a range of interactive learning methods, including case studies, team-based simulations, one-on-one coaching sessions, peer to peer coaching and role play.
Before the program, participants will complete a personality test that will serve as the basis of further exploration in individual coaching sessions.

Associate Professor of Managing People in Organizations

Prof. Raes’ research and teaching expertise include top management teams, successful interactions between top and middle managers, self-management, leadership, and teamwork.
Prior to joining IESE, Anneloes worked as an assistant professor at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland, and she held visiting scholarships at UCLA’s Anderson School of Management, as well as Harvard University.
The academic work of Prof. Raes has been published in academic journals such as the Academy of Management Review, Small Group Research, and Human Relations, and was awarded with the “pioneering research award” from the Organizational Development and Change Division of the Academy of Management and Healthways.

Miguel Ángel Ariño is a visiting professor in international institutions such as the China Europe International Business School and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Business School.
Specialized in decision-making and organizational governance, Prof. Ariño has published articles in both academic and mainstream magazines. He is the author of a book on management decision making (2005) and co-author of the book on how to avoid risks in decision-making (2010).

He teaches subjects such as leadership, crosscultural management, and strategic human resource management in MBA as well as executive programs.
Prior to IESE, he taught at HEC University of Lausanne (Switzerland), Angers Graduate School of Business ESSCA (France), the American Graduate School of International Management Thunderbird Europe (France), and Lung-Hua University of Science and Technology (Taiwan, R.O.C.).
One of Prof. Lee’s papers on culture and the person-environment fit, titled “Satisfaction and Individual Preference for Structuring: What is Fit Depends on Where You Are From,” won the Best International Paper Award of the Organizational Behavior Division at the 2006 Academy of Management Annual Meeting, and was one of the three finalists of the academy-wide Carolyn Dexter Award.

Admission Process
The program has a four-step admission process:

      1. Participants must complete and submit the online application.
      2. The Executive Education Department will contact the participant by email to acknowledge receipt of the application. It will also provide information about the program dates, sending of prior study materials and the bank details needed to pay tuition.
      3. The participant pays tuition (payment must be made before the start of the course and before prior study materials are sent). This is an essential prerequisite for participating in the program.
      4. Three weeks before the start of the program, participants will receive an email with a username giving them access to IESE’s Virtual Campus, where initial study materials will be available.

Fees

The program fee is tax-exempt and includes academic materials and lunches. It does not include travel or accommodation expenses.

The program requires preparatory coursework, which will be made available three weeks before the start date. Payment is required in order to access this material. Check the cancellation policy below.

We accept payments by credit card, check or wire. For more payment information, please reference your invoice.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations received within 20 days prior to the start of the program are subject to a cancellation fee equivalent to 25% of the program fee. IESE reserves the right to cancel this edition of the program or to change the dates up to 20 days prior to its start. IESE is under no circumstances responsible for travel expenses incurred. Participants should consider travel cancellation coverage in the exceptional event that the program is cancelled or that participants are unable to attend for personal or professional reasons.
